Women in Leadership Symposium 2025

May 15-16, 2025

Lower Columbia College, Longview, WA

Our goal for this year’s 2025 Women in Leadership Symposium is to provide women and their allies in All-Hazard Emergency Management fields a positive environment where everyone can learn from those who have had a proven record of accomplishment in community building. This upcoming 2025 symposium will be designed to enhance attendee’s knowledge and understanding of personal and professional growth with interactive presentations, discussions and sessions that address our quickly changing world and the professions we practice as well as the importance of cultural competency and the roles of indigenous women in our tribal communities. We are soliciting ideas and participation in the development of this year’s event.

Lower Columbia College will also be celebrating Lawetlat’la Day and the 2nd Annual Volcano Conference and we look forward to engaging our women leaders from our indigenous communities in our southwest Washington region to explore the challenges the have faced in leadership positions, and strategies for building supporting structures. Women will identify what their strengths are as leaders, what they have learned from their colleagues and friends about where they want to go in terms of their education and career and help them find and follow their dreams and goals. Having more women in leadership roles is a matter of equity, and social justice and is imperative for organizations looking to thrive in an increasingly diverse and competitive global landscape.
